THE Anti-Illegal Cults Movement (GARAH) has submitted information to the police to aid investigations into attacks and arson targeting independent preacher Cikgu Chandra, as well as assaults on fellow preacher Zamri Vinoth.
In a statement on Tuesday, GARAH said the intelligence provided also relates to threats and attacks against Zamri Vinoth, and is intended to help the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) uphold the rule of law.
“GARAH is also in the process of gathering further information required to assist the Royal Malaysia Police in enforcing the rule of law.
“GARAH will hold discussions with several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) today regarding the next steps, which are being coordinated by our secretariat,” the statement read.
The group added that individuals wishing to file additional police reports regarding the attacks, threats, or incitement targeting Zamri Vinoth, Cikgu Chandra, Tamim Dahri, or any other parties may do so at their discretion, either through NGOs or personally.
However, GARAH emphasised that the immediate safety of those involved is the top priority, while the PDRM is being assisted with verified information to expedite investigations and follow-up actions.
The latest disclosures come after independent preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung uploaded an account of a reported attack by three armed men at Cikgu Chandra’s home on Monday.
A second incident occurred early Tuesday morning when Cikgu Chandra’s vehicle was set on fire by unknown assailants.
Earlier, on Sunday, police arrested an individual allegedly linked to previous threats against Zamri Vinoth in Penang, highlighting a pattern of attacks against independent preachers that has prompted heightened vigilance and investigation. - March 10, 2026
