THE renewed questioning comes as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) presses ahead with its inquiry into a high-value strategic agreement, with further sessions expected depending on the progress of the investigation.
Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli is scheduled to return to the headquarters of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at 10am to resume giving his statement, describing the process as routine despite its length.
“It is a normal investigation process, they ask questions, and I answer. So far, everything is going smoothly, though it is time-consuming,” he told reporters outside the MACC headquarters.
He said the previous session began at 10am and concluded at 6.40pm, lasting nearly nine hours.
Rafizi declined to elaborate on the substance of the inquiry, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
“I cannot comment on the specific angles of the investigation,” he said.
He added that he may be required to return for several more days, depending on the scope of questioning and the pace of proceedings.
The investigation relates to allegations of abuse of power and misappropriation involving a strategic semiconductor collaboration between the Economy Ministry and Arm Holdings, a United Kingdom-based firm.
MACC investigations director Datuk Mohd Hafaz Nazar previously confirmed that Rafizi would be called to provide a statement under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009, which concerns the misuse of office or position for gratification.
In a separate statement, Mohd Hafaz said Rafizi’s attendance forms part of the commission’s efforts to complete its ongoing probe. - May 5, 2026
