POLICE are looking for a foreign man believed to be drunk after he went on a rampage and vandalised a dim sum restaurant on Jalan Klang Lama in Kuala Lumpur, early Sunday morning.

Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook, said a report regarding the incident was made by the owner of the restaurant at 11 am on May 5.

“Initial investigations found that the incident occurred on May 4, 2026, at approximately 1.56 am at a dim sum restaurant on Jalan Klang Lama.

“The complainant stated that he did not know the suspect and only saw the man for the first time during the incident,” he said in a statement today.

According to him, the suspect, a Nigerian national, overturned several tables around the restaurant, causing damage to the premises.

He said the complainant did not dare to stop the suspect’s actions for fear of being harmed.

“No one was injured during the incident, but many customers fled for fear of being harmed by the suspect, who is believed to have been drunk at the time of the incident,” he said.

He added that an inspection at the location found that there was a closed-circuit television recording of the incident.

“The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code,” he said.
