Over two million vehicles expected to use PLUS network starting Friday

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) expects more than 2.2 million vehicles to use its highway network every day, in conjunction with the double holiday season that begins this Friday.

For the East Coast Highway 2 (LPT2), traffic flow is expected to increase by up to 50,000 vehicles daily on peak days.

PLUS, in a statement today announced the significant increase in traffic flow following the clash of mid-year school holidays, with three major celebrations, namely Hari Raya Aidiladha, Wesak Day and the Official Birthday of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“The peak days are expected on 22, 23, 26, 28, 29, 30 and 31 May 2026 for vehicles leaving the Klang Valley, while for trips back to the Klang Valley are on 4, 5, 6 and 7 June 2026.

“Highway users are advised to plan their return journey to their hometowns or holidays to avoid congestion. The public is also encouraged to refer to and obtain the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule on the PLUS application,” the statement said today.

To ensure that the safety and comfort of users are at the best level, PLUS will activate Smart Lanes at 33 traffic hotspots to increase lane capacity, in addition to assigning more than 500 PLUSRonda and LPT2Ronda personnel for 24-hour patrols.

PLUS has also optimised operations and opened all lanes at toll plazas, as well as monitoring real-time traffic through the Traffic Monitoring Centre (TMC).

In addition, PLUS, through strategic collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Malaysian Highways Authority (LLM), as well as related agencies, is committed to helping smooth traffic flow and ensure that user safety levels are always at an optimal level.

Users can also get the latest traffic information through the PLUS application, Virtual Assistant - PUTRI, X @plustrafik and @lpt2trafik applications, electronic message displays (VMS) at selected locations and the country's main radio station channels.

“PLUS also advises highway users to use the PLUS application, Waze or Google Maps to plan their journey and get current traffic status throughout this festive season,” the statement said.

Users are also reminded to ensure that their Touch ‘n Go card or e-wallet balance (for RFID and JustGO users) is always sufficient, in addition to ensuring that their vehicles are in good condition, drive responsibly, get adequate rest and comply with traffic regulations for the sake of mutual safety.
