A WOMAN and two underage girls were charged at the Traffic Magistrate's Court on Thursday on charges of riding a motorcycle dangerously by performing the 'Superman' stunt on Jalan Pintasan Kuantan, July 16.
The accused, Nur Liana Atirah Roslan, 21, pleaded not guilty to the charges brought before Magistrate Wahida Zainal Abidin, while two other teenagers, aged 18 and 19, pleaded guilty to the charges read out separately.
Based on the charge sheet, the three girls, who work as shop assistants and hotel workers, were charged with dangerously riding their Yamaha LC135 motorcycles by performing two 'Superman' stunts.
They were charged with committing the act at about 12.30 am on Jalan Pintasan Kuantan from the direction of Terminal Sentral Kuantan (TSK) towards Bukit Rangin.
For the offence, they were charged separately under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333).
If convicted, they face a prison sentence of not more than five years and a fine of not less than RM5,000 and not more than RM15,000.
They also face disqualification from holding or obtaining a driving licence for a period of not less than two years from the date of conviction.
If they have a probationary licence, their licence will be revoked if they are convicted.
Following the guilty pleas of the two minors involved, the court set August 26 as the date for the mention of the social and moral reports issued by the Social Welfare Department (JKM).
The prosecution offered bail of RM4,000 and RM5,000 for the two nominees before the amounts were reduced to RM2,000 and RM3,000 after they appealed.
Meanwhile, Nur Liana Atirah, who pleaded not guilty, was offered bail of RM5,000 before she appealed to have the amount reduced.
The court reduced the bail to RM3,000 and also set August 26 for the case to be mentioned again for the submission of documents and the appointment of lawyers.
None of them was represented while Inspector Noraini Mohd Nor prosecuted. – July 23, 2026
