AN officer from Thailand's Defence Ministry was allegedly involved in a mid-air disturbance on a flight from Malaysia to Bangkok.

A five-minute video shared on social media showed the officer repeatedly shouting before being restrained by passengers and crew.

According to reports in the Thai Enquirer, the Thai Defence Ministry confirmed the officer, a lieutenant attached to its Office of Policy and Planning, had been undergoing psychiatric treatment.

Ministry spokesman Rear Admiral Surasant Kongsiri said on Monday that the officer’s symptoms flared up during the flight because of a personal condition.

Videos posted online showed the man shouting, demanding that the plane land and attempting to open a door before passengers and crew restrained him.
