AN elderly motorcyclist died after his motorcycle was believed to have collided with a lorry in Sungai Lokan in Butterworth on Monday.
The crash occurred at about 11am, leaving the motorcyclist with serious injuries to his legs.
Oriental Daily News cited that the man was rushed to hospital by rescuers from the Beihai Blue Sky Volunteer Rescue Team and the Civil Defence Force but later succumbed to his injuries.
The lorry driver is understood to have stopped after the crash, got out to check on the motorcyclist and called for help.
Police subsequently arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
The circumstances leading to the collision, including how the motorcycle came into contact with the lorry, have yet to be established. - September 29, 2026
