THE government aims to create 30,000 new job opportunities next year through the MADANI Talent Program, which includes the participation of private companies that will benefit from tax deductions for implementing talent training initiatives from June 29 to December 31, 2030.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that the MADANI Talent Program was launched through the commitment of six Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs), PETRONAS, and a network of Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) to provide training and quality job opportunities for 25,000 youths.
He noted that the tax deduction incentive is intended to encourage more private companies to participate in the program. “In an effort to enhance the skills and employability of the young workforce, the government has also allocated RM8 billion for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across various ministries.
“Additionally, HRD Corp, with a fund of RM3 billion, will offer three million skills training opportunities—including continuous professional development for professionals,” he said while tabling the 2027 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, stated that the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) is providing RM500 million to finance trainees participating in skills training programs at public and private skills training institutes registered with the agency.
He noted that Community Colleges would also continue offering short courses to tahfiz students as a pathway to employment, entrepreneurship, and higher education.
He added that for Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel of other ranks completing their service, skills training would be provided through collaborations with institutions such as the Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (MIAT) and the Malaysian Maritime Academy (ALAM).
Meanwhile, MARA will train and place 1,000 Bumiputera youths in high-growth sectors.
In the construction sector, he explained, the skills of GIATMARA electrical wiring trainees would be utilised to repair wiring in 20,000 homes belonging to low-income families.
“The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is also targeting training for 10,000 youths in robotics and digital technology to open up new career opportunities and reduce reliance on foreign labor,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister stated that the Manpower Department’s (JTM) Advanced Technology Training Centres (ADTEC) would open up high-skilled automotive career pathways for graduates through the Advanced Program. Automotive Technology.
In a related development, he noted that the government is also focusing on developing young Indian talent by increasing the allocation for the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (MITRA) to RM150 million.
Anwar stated that priority for this allocation would be given to providing training and employment opportunities for Indian youth, including in the fields of industrial automation, technology, and aircraft maintenance. – October 9, 2026
