INCONSISTENCIES in a girl’s testimony and conflicting dates in police and medical reports led the Kuala Terengganu Sessions Court to acquit a 22-year-old man of three sexual offence charges involving the girl, who was aged 12 years and 11 months at the time of the alleged offences.

Judge Mohd Zul Zakiqudin Zulkifli ruled that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against Muhammad Nuriman Nabil Mohd Hisham, ordering his acquittal and discharge without calling him to enter his defence.

The judge said the discrepancies included differences in the dates recorded in the police report, medical report and the girl’s recorded statement. Witness testimony also failed to support the allegations.

The court further considered conflicting accounts about the alleged incident in a car and the delay in the girl lodging a police report.

The court ordered the accused’s RM12,000 bail to be refunded.

Under the amended charges, the accused was alleged to have raped the girl in a car at an open area near the Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge between 8pm and 8.30pm on June 28, 2023.

He also faced charges of allegedly making the girl touch his genitals and placing his genitals in her mouth at the same location and time.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Azhani Azman prosecuted the case, while the accused was represented by lawyer Che Amir Che Musa. - October 25, 2026
