DATUK Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain has been returned to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) from the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), effective last week, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said today.

Saifuddin confirmed the decision when met after the Home Ministry’s monthly assembly, saying it had been made the previous week.

“Yes, yes, we made the decision last week,” he said.

He said Mohd Shuhaily was a senior police officer seconded to AKPS and had now been returned to his parent organisation.

“He is a police officer seconded to AKPS. So, we are returning him to the police force, and the police will follow up from there,” Saifuddin said.

He did not disclose Mohd Shuhaily’s new posting or the duties he would assume upon returning to PDRM.

Asked who would fill the vacant post of AKPS director-general, Saifuddin said it would also be filled by a police officer.

Mohd Shuhaily previously headed AKPS, which is responsible for coordinating the country’s border control and protection. - October 29, 2026
