TENGKU Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar, the former wife of ex-prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, is in critical condition and receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Gleneagles Hospital Ampang.
Her eldest son, Datuk Mohamad Nizar Mohamad Najib, shared the news in a Facebook post today, appealing to the public, relatives and friends to pray for his mother's recovery.
"With humility, I seek prayers from all friends, relatives and acquaintances for the health of my beloved mother, Tengku Puteri Zainah, who is currently receiving treatment in the ICU.
"Her condition remains critical. May Allah SWT ease her pain, give her strength and grant her a full recovery," he said.
Najib's Facebook account also shared the post, offering prayers for Tengku Puteri Zainah and her family as they face the difficult situation.
"We pray that Allah SWT grants her strength and resilience, as well as her entire family, in facing this test.
"May Allah SWT ease all her pain, smooth the course of her treatment and grant her the best possible recovery," the post said.
Tengku Puteri Zainah, 65, has three children: Nizar, Putri Norlisa and Mohd Nazifuddin. - November 4, 2026
