MPs to grill government on RON95 quality, possible compensation for affected motorists
Parliament will seek answers on fuel sample test results from five states and depots - November 5, 2026

THE government will be pressed to explain the RON95 petrol quality issue, including test results and possible compensation for motorists whose vehicles were affected, when the Dewan Rakyat meets today.

Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman (PN-Kuala Krai) will ask the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister to disclose the findings of fuel sample analyses conducted in five states and at depots.

He will also seek details of immediate measures to restore consumer confidence and whether compensation will be provided to affected vehicle owners.

The issue is among the matters scheduled for the Minister's Question Time, according to the Order Paper published on Parliament's website.

Other questions will focus on the management of critical open landfills, enforcement against foreigners driving without valid licences and gaps in maritime surveillance capabilities.

Datuk Dr Richard Rapu @ Aman Begri (GPS-Betong) will seek the Housing and Local Government Minister's long-term strategy to address critical open landfills operated by rural local authorities, including waste management measures in districts without waste-to-energy (WTE) facilities.

Dr Siti Mastura Muhammad (PN-Kepala Batas) will ask the Transport Minister to detail enforcement mechanisms against foreigners, including United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cardholders and undocumented migrants, driving without valid licences.

Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad (BN-Simpang Renggam) will seek an update from the Home Minister on the deployment of early-detection radar systems, drones and satellites, 24-hour surveillance coverage and critical gaps in Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency assets.

Rodiyah Sapiee (GPS-Batang Sadong) will also ask about government preparations to prevent and manage haze episodes amid forecasts that the El Nino phenomenon could persist until mid-2027.

The Dewan Rakyat will resume committee-stage deliberations on the Supply Bill 2027 and the 2027 Development Expenditure Estimates after the question-and-answer session.

The proceedings are scheduled to continue until Nov 26, according to the parliamentary calendar. - November 5, 2026
