KUALA LUMPUR – The country recorded the highest number of recoveries yet with 4,427 in contrast to 3,346 new Covid-19 cases today, reported the Health Ministry.
Eleven more deaths were reported with death toll now at 678.
Selangor continued to lead with the highest number of infections at 950 cases, followed by Sabah (431), Kuala Lumpur (390), Johor (378), Sarawak (255), and Terengganu (179).
Negri Sembilan has 160 cases with its neighbour Melaka logging 152 infections, Penang (90), Kedah (85), Kelantan (77), Pahang (63), Labuan (49), Putrajaya (38), and Perlis (3).
Of the new infections, the ministry reported that 3,339 are local transmissions with 2,602 citizens and 737 foreigners while there are seven import cases involving six citizens and one foreigner.
With the latest record of fresh infections, the national Covid-19 tally is at 183,801, of which 41,677 are active cases.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry announced nine new clusters today, with two each in Johor and Sabah.
The worksite clusters of Keluli Tujuh and Jalan Segama in Johor contributed 29 cases today.
While Sabah’s Ladang Segama and Jalan Segama have 23 cases.
Selangor reported one worksite cluster – Jalan Sebelas with 83 cases, the highest among the new clusters followed by Kuala Lumpur’s Tapak Bina Sri Petaling cluster with a total of 44 cases.
The Bukit Emas cluster in Negri Sembilan has 12 cases while the Tapak Bina Flora cluster recorded 13.
