KUALA TERENGGANU – Three more primary schools in Terengganu have been ordered to close for seven days from yesterday after staff were confirmed positive for Covid-19.
The schools are SK Paya Bunga and SK Pusat Cabang Tiga Dua here, and SK Bukit Apit in Hulu Terengganu.
State education director Nor Azimi Yunus said the closure is to enable sanitisation work to be carried out.
“The temporary closure of the schools was ordered under Section 18(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, to contain the disease from spreading. In this regard, all activities at these schools have been postponed,” she told Bernama today.
Twelve other schools here were earlier ordered shut over the coronavirus, namely SK Kesom, SK Bukit Petiti, SK Pulau Manis, SK Manir, SK Tengku Ampuan Mariam, SK Kedai Buloh, SK Tok Dir, SK Pusat Kuala Ibai, SK Seri Budiman, SK Gong Tok Nasek, SK Sultan Sulaiman 1 and SK Paloh. – Bernama, January 26, 2021
