KUALA LUMPUR – Authorities may use government buildings and facilities as centres for swab tests and temporary deployment of civil servants for services in need of additional health and safety support, among other measures to be taken during the current emergency.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali said it was among the proposals discussed by the emergency management technical committee, and agreed upon by the National Security Council’s emergency session.
The proposals were among the committee’s focuses on the mobilisation of the federal and state’s public service resources, he said in a statement today.
The committee was set up to ensure the smooth implementation of the Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance 2021.
Zuki said the committee, which has convened four times to date, also focuses on the integration of public and private hospital service capabilities during the emergency to guarantee complete and integrated health access for Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 patients.
He said the integration is also aimed at optimising existing health resources and expertise to provide treatment to patients during the pandemic. – Bernama, January 26, 2021
