BUKIT MERTAJAM – A Ferrari went up in flames on the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway, as the driver was travelling from Autocity, Juru, to Kulim, Kedah.

The Ferrari 430 caught fire as it was nearing the Kubang Semang toll plaza near Permatang Pauh at 2.08pm.

Prai Fire and Rescue Department senior officer Mohd Zaini Zainuddin said a fire engine was deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call.

He said the driver, in his 30s, was unhurt in the incident.

He added that Sg Puyu volunteer firefighters were putting out the fire when the Prai station team arrived at the scene.

The fire was put out at 2.45pm.

He said forensic officers are looking into the cause of the fire. – The Vibes, January 27, 2021
