KUALA LUMPUR – One man’s pleasure, another man’s pain – an apparently apt description of a recent video widely shared on social media that showed two individuals, one believed to be a “Datuk Seri” and the other a “Datuk”, fighting over a parked helicopter.
The video was uploaded by Facebook user Wai Loong Chiok in the wee hours of today and is believed to have taken place in Puchong.
According to the Facebook post, the Datuk Seri had parked his two-blade helicopter in his porch and had been cleaning it every day, as he had “nothing to do” at home due to the movement control order.
However, what appeared to be a harmless hobby had become a thorn in the side of his neighbour.
The post claimed that the neighbouring Datuk was also stuck at home as his factory is not allowed to operate under current restrictions.
In the 39-second clip, he approaches the Datuk Seri from across the road and confronts him at his house.
A brief altercation ensues, with both of them hurling profanities and shoving each other.
The Datuk Seri is heard saying: “My parking the helicopter here is none of your business. You are only a Datuk, don’t be arrogant.”
A peacemaker then steps in, asking them to calm down.
It is uncertain how the helicopter had made its way into the residential area, although it is highly unlikely it flew there.
The Vibes is attempting to contact the Facebook account owner to get more details.
The Vibes has also reached out to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia to check if it is an offence to park a helicopter at one’s residence.
Under aviation regulations, a pilot has the responsibility to ensure that an area must be deemed safe and out of harm’s way when landing a helicopter.
Meanwhile, in a video uploaded later, the Datuk Seri apologised for the commotion caused and said his neighbour has also extended an apology.
