JOHOR BARU – The driver and two attendants of a three-tonne lorry were killed in a collision with a trailer in front of a petrol station on Jalan Kluang-Batu Pahat, near Batu Pahat, today.

The driver is identified as Mohamad Azraai Mohamad Rizal, 24, while the attendants are Sadam Hussin Hamidon, 30, and Deli Mustapha, 59.

Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Department commander Mohamad Shamin Mohamed Salikin said the lorry was laden with workshop equipment, while the trailer was carrying cement, when both collided at 6.28am.

He said the victims were pinned inside the wreckage and died at the scene, while the trailer driver, identified as Saiful Nizam Mansor, 39, escaped unhurt.

He added that firemen used a special equipment to extricate the bodies.

The operation ended at 8.43am. – Bernama, January 29, 2021
