ALOR STAR – The Kedah Health Department has confirmed that a state exco who was in Sabah for last weekend’s election has tested positive for Covid-19.

Its director, Dr Mohd Fikri Ujang, said the exco was admitted to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital yesterday.

“The Health Department is tracing and screening his close contacts, including family members.

“So far, only one exco has been confirmed positive for the virus,” he told Bernama today.

It is believed that the exco was infected by his aide, who was two days ago confirmed to have the coronavirus.

Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was reported as saying three excos were absent from a meeting yesterday as they were under home quarantine. – Bernama, October 1, 2020
