KUALA LUMPUR – Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has pooh-poohed a book urging him to resign from his party post, saying that the “dirty tactic” was in the works months ago.

He told Utusan Malaysia that the book, titled 30 Dalil Mengapa Zahid Perlu Letak Jawatan Sebagai Presiden Umno, does not have any effect on the party or its members.

“The contents have already been shared in PDF, just that now it has been compiled into a book. Umno members are not paying heed to it.

“It’s a dirty political game and if that satisfies them, please go ahead,” he was quoted as saying.

He added that he does not need to know or care about who is behind the book and its distribution.

“I don’t need to know (who the person is) because it is obviously a dirty job. Why do I care? It does not affect the party whatsoever.”

He said the party’s leadership will not take action on the matter as it does not benefit Umno.

It is understood that the book has been distributed to Umno members at the branch and division levels. – The Vibes, February 25, 2021
