BUTTERWORTH – Perikatan Nasional is preparing its election machinery in Penang as the state council met for the first time today.

Chaired by the coalition’s state chief Datuk Shabudin Yahaya at its office in Pokok Sena, he said representatives will be going to the ground and seat negotiations will be addressed later.

The meeting was attended by reps from Bersatu and PAS with Shabudin saying Gerakan representatives were endorsed today and will attend the next meeting in April.

Shabudin, who is Tasek Gelugor MP and a deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, added that they are preparing for the general election and that the coalition represents major communities in the country.

“We have PPBM (Bersatu), PAS and Gerakan in the coalition.”

PAS state chairman Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff has been appointed Penang PN vice-chairman, while Gerakan state chairman Oh Tong Keong is second vice-chairman.

Nibong Tebal MP Datuk Mansor Othman and Bertam assemblyman Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq are appointed as committee members. The rest of the committee will comprise five reps each from PAS and Bersatu, and four from Gerakan. – The Vibes, February 28, 2021
