KUALA LUMPUR – On the heels of the lifting of the movement control order (MCO) this Friday, Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has renewed his calls for Parliament to reconvene.
In a statement yesterday, Zahid questioned when the Dewan Rakyat will be allowed to sit again since interstate travel restrictions will be relaxed.
“Now that there are no states with MCOs, when will Parliament be able to reconvene?
“The Agong has pronounced that the state of emergency blocking Parliament’s reconvening is inaccurate.
“Pak Menteri, please move on. Let us reconvene for the importance of the country. This is a democratic nation after all.”
He also reminded the people on the importance of adhering to standard operating procedures. – The Vibes, March 3, 2021
