Cops to quiz man over claim 200 Kelantan secretariat staff tried cutting vaccination queue

KOTA BARU – Police expect to soon record a statement from an individual suspected of spreading a claim that Kelantan secretariat staff tried to jump the Covid-19 vaccination queue.

State police chief Datuk Shafien Mamat said the force has contacted the suspect in Putrajaya to fix a date to take his statement.

“So far, police have recorded statements from seven witnesses,” he told reporters after monitoring virus standard operating procedure compliance at SK Mulong 2 here today.

Last Wednesday, the state Local Government, Housing and Health Committee chairman’s special officer, Mohamad Taufik Ramli, lodged a police report against the suspect for alleging that 200 Kelantan secretariat staff attempted to cut the vaccination queue in Phase 1 of the inoculation programme.

On another matter, Shafien said police have recorded the statements of two secondary school students photographed wearing their school uniform with vulgar words written on it against their teachers, while riding a motorcycle.

“The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955… We are awaiting instruction from the deputy public prosecutor on further action.” – Bernama, March 9, 2021
