The government has allocated RM22 billion to the Home Affairs and Defence ministries under Budget 2027 to strengthen the country’s security and defence capabilities.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said RM7.1 billion would be set aside for the procurement and maintenance of assets used by the military, police and other uniformed agencies under the Home Affairs Ministry.
He said new facilities would also be built at strategic locations nationwide to improve operational readiness and strengthen the capacity of security forces.
These include the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency headquarters in Tanjung Kupang, Johor; the 19th General Operations Force Battalion complex in Cheras; and an Immigration Department office in Keningau, Sabah.
Three new police stations will also be built in Sungai Rambai, Melaka; Tanjung Malim, Perak; and Batu Lintang, Sri Aman, Sarawak, to improve service delivery and security for local communities.
Anwar announced the allocations when tabling Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat today.
