KUALA LUMPUR – The individual called up by police over a claim that Kelantan Secretary’s Office staff tried to jump the Covid-19 vaccination queue is not a whistle-blower, said Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador.
The inspector-general of police told Bernama that officers summoned the person to know where he got the information that he posted on Twitter.
“Acting on his tweet, police called him up. And no, he is not a whistle-blower.
“If there’s a whistle-blower who provides information on this case, I would defend them.”
He stressed that the man in question is not a suspect, adding: “The public need not worry about being a whistle-blower, as their safety and personal details will be protected.”
He welcomed all those willing to share information with police on criminal activities.
On March 3, the state Local Government, Housing and Health Committee chairman’s special officer, Mohamad Taufik Ramli, lodged a police report over a social media post alleging that 200 employees of the Kelantan Secretary’s Office attempted to cut the line to get the Covid-19 vaccine. – Bernama, March 16, 2021
