KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia today logged another 1,302 coronavirus infections, with Sarawak recording the bulk at 426.
The Health Ministry also reported four new fatalities, taking the death toll to 1,255.
Selangor is in second place in terms of caseload with 256 infections, followed by Penang (212) and Johor (176).
States with cases in the double digits are Kuala Lumpur (58), Sabah (38), Kelantan (34), Pahang (32), and Perak and Kedah (23 each).
Negri Sembilan registered nine cases, Labuan (6), Melaka (5), and Terengganu and Putrajaya (2 each).
Perlis is again the only state with no new infections.
The latest cases take the country’s Covid-19 tally to 341,944, of which 14,380 are still active.
The ministry said 1,127 new recoveries were recorded, making the overall figure 326,309.
There are 169 coronavirus patients in intensive care, of whom 76 are intubated.
Three fresh clusters were detected, said the ministry, adding that another 14 have been contained.
The new clusters are Selangor’s Ladang Sg Pelek, involving a workplace, Johor’s Pagar Bukit Chagar (detention centre) and Kelantan’s Patek (community).
