KUALA LUMPUR – Perikatan Nasional Youth firmly rejects the culture of political domination that sows seeds of disunity and generates leaders involved in corruption and kleptocracy, reported Bernama.
Information chief Muhammad Hilman Idham, in a statement today, said this is in line with the coalition’s commitment to clean up democracy by embedding good values in politics.
“We are confident in the country’s seven decades of democracy. Malaysia is able to take steps to produce political synthesis based on the federal confederation and Rukun Negara, to develop Malaysians who are dynamic and united.”
He said the wing also welcomes PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s call to unite and stick together under PN.
PN Youth also welcomes Gabungan Parti Sarawak and MIC’s stand to support the leadership of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“The three parties’ confidence that political stability is the main key to ensuring the people’s needs and country’s prosperity is in line with PN’s aspirations,” said Hilman.
“A good democracy demands that political parties understand democracy as a medium to strengthen unity and elevate the people’s standard of living.”
He also urged Malaysians to boost unity, especially in the face of the Covid-19 crisis.
On Saturday, Pahang PN chairman Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah announced in a Facebook post that Muhyiddin is developing a grand coalition of parties to unite the people justly, inclusively and harmoniously in a new political mould.
He said PN has learnt from the mistakes of the previous Barisan Nasional administration, and whose pact is dominated by Umno.
The new Bersatu-led coalition aims to ensure any decisions made are based on discussions, and not monopolised by a single party.
“In BN, Umno is the dominant party. BN’s top posts – chairman, deputy chairman, secretary-general, treasurer, Women’s chief, Youth chief, information chief – are held by Umno. In PN, they are shared among the components.
“In Pakatan Harapan, there was no dominant party, but a situation where it was supported by ‘a big majority from a minority group’ and ‘only a small minority from the majority group’, causing it to not last long.” – The Vibes, April 6, 2021
