Its chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said they are also required to undergo Covid-19 screenings on the second and tenth day of the quarantine.

He said they would also have to bear the cost of screenings and quarantine.

"Only the quarantine and Covid-19 screening costs for Sarawakians will be borne by the Sarawak state government," he said at the Covid-19 daily press conference here.

Uggah who is also the Deputy Chief Minister I said the mandatory 14-day quarantine order issued on October 4 did not apply to Sarawakians coming from the peninsula as they were only required to undergo the Home Surveillance and Observation Order (HSO).

Meanwhile, he said stricter monitoring would also be conducted on those who have been placed under the HSO.
