KUANTAN – Police on Monday arrested two private college students suspected of using a fake interstate travel permit to enter Pahang.
Bentong district police chief Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the suspects, both women aged 22 travelling in the same vehicle, were arrested at a roadblock after the Bentong toll plaza at 6.45pm, after officers questioned the authenticity of the permit submitted by the duo.
“Preliminary investigations showed that the stamp and signature of the police station chief who purportedly approved the permit for the journey from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan, on the grounds of attending classes, were fake, and produced using a scanner,” he said in a statement today.
“Police also found a copy of a blank form bearing the fake signature on the smartphone of one of the suspects.”
The students tested positive for cannabis, he said, adding that investigations are being conducted under Sections 468 and 471 of the Penal Code. – Bernama, April 21, 2021
