KOTA BARU – The spike in Kelantan’s Covid-19 cases has resulted in the state’s hospitals and low-risk quarantine centres being stretched to the limit, said health exco Dr Izani Husin.
In a Facebook post today, he said there is also a shortage of health personnel.
“The infectivity rate, or R-naught (R0), today is the highest at 1.44, way above the national R0 of 1.15.
“Daily cases in Kelantan saw a record high of 662 today, bringing the state’s total to 10,199 cases.”
Following the rise in infections, all districts in Kelantan have been placed under the movement control order (MCO) until April 29.
The MCO was enforced in Kota Baru, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Bachok, Machang, Tumpat and Tanah Merah districts on April 16, while it takes effect in Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang today. – Bernama, April 22, 2021
