PUTRAJAYA – Two senior directors of a construction firm based in China have been remanded for two days starting today to facilitate investigations into the alleged misappropriation of company funds and bribery.
Putrajaya court assistant registrar Nor Azilawati Abdullah issued the remand order after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission submitted an application against the duo, one of whom is a Chinese national, today.
An MACC source said the company managing director and senior finance director, in their 40s and 50s, were detained at the agency’s headquarters here at 12.30pm yesterday after they gave their statements.
They are being investigated under Section 16(b) of the MACC Act. – Bernama, April 23, 2021
