TAIPING – The Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) is hunting a male macaque that attacked a female jogger at Lake Gardens here yesterday.

Perak Perhilitan director Yusoff Shariff said personnel have been deployed to look for the animal following a report filed by the public on the 8.30am incident. 

The victim was scratched by the animal on the left calf.

“We sent personnel to the area, but could not locate the macaque. We will come up with a plan to capture it,” said Yusoff in a statement.

The department has called on the public to be more alert when in the Lake Gardens area. – Bernama, April 25, 2021
