KUCHING – The question of which Covid-19 vaccine brand is better should not even be present, according to a government official, especially when Malaysia is facing a tough time in curbing the pandemic.

Sarawak Assistant Public Health Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee said instead of debating over the brand, people should take advantage of any vaccine the government obtains now as it provides protection to individuals and society as a whole.

“When asked which vaccine is the best, (my answer) is the first vaccine we can get, regardless of type.

“In a pandemic situation, we not only want to break the chain of infection, but also create herd immunity. This is most important.”
