KUALA LUMPUR – Police are investigating a senior state cop over allegations of misconduct and abuse of power, said Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) director Datuk Zamri Yahya.
In a statement today, he said the probe follows complaints made against the officer.
“JIPS has begun a thorough and transparent investigation.
“Appropriate action will be taken if there is evidence of misconduct and abuse of power by the individual.”
He said police will not protect any personnel involved in malpractice, misconduct and power abuse.
A post went viral on Facebook recently, claiming that the senior officer is protecting gambling and smuggling syndicates, as well as secret societies. – Bernama, May 12, 2021
