SHAH ALAM – The Selangor government has initiated a facility to sell Covid-19 vaccines to employers in the state who plan to immunise their workers as an effort to curb the spread of the virus.
State public health exco Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said that interested companies can register to procure the vaccines via the Selangkah app.
“Selangkah has opened the registration process for employers who are interested in getting the vaccine for their staff,” she was quoted as saying by Selangorkini.

Dr Siti Mariah also refuted a viral message on social media that claimed 500,000 Sinovac vaccine doses are to be made available to residents in the state.
The Seri Serdang rep stressed that all official statements on vaccine policies can be issued only by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari or herself.
She urged Selangor residents to obtain proper and accurate information through the following Facebook pages: Amirudin Shari, Dr Siti Mariah, Selangor Task Force Covid-19 and Media Selangor.
On February 23, Dr Siti Mariah said high-risk workers in the state would be among those to be prioritised for inoculation, with the doses bought by their employers.
This is because this group, which includes foreign workers, is among the parties that have contributed to the rise in Covid-19 cases at the workplace.
The Selangor government announced on January 18 its intention to purchase five million vaccine doses. The gesture was reportedly well received by the federal government and Health Ministry.
Amirudin also announced then that an allocation of RM100 million had been approved for this purpose by the state to help reach the goals of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme. – The Vibes, May 18, 2021
