KUALA LUMPUR – Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah is calling for Covid-19 survivors in Malaysia to volunteer for an immunity study at the Institute for Medical Research.
In a Facebook post on his personal page last night, he said: “This research is important to find out the level of neutralising antibodies (immunity) in the blood of survivors that may help prevent the coronavirus from re-infecting patients.
“This research has obtained the approval of the Health Ministry’s Medical Research and Ethics Committee (NMRR-20-1676-55108),” Dr Noor Hisham said on the study titled Longitudinal study on neutralising antibodies response among Covid-19 patients in Malaysia.
The study will be from now to July 2022.
The poster from IMR stated Covid-19 survivors’ blood are precious in order for the group to determine immunity and improve understanding of antibody response at different time frames.
