KUALA LUMPUR – A tree near the National Museum here has fallen atop a car and a motorcycle, resulting in a road closure stretching from the Jalan Travers police station to the museum.
According to accounts and photos shared on social media, efforts are ongoing to remove the tree, and traffic congestion is expected along the Jalan Bangsar-Jalan Damansara route.
The incident occurred following sustained heavy rain in the city.

A statement by Brickfields district police chief Anuar Omar said strong winds at 3.05pm caused the tree to fall on a white Proton Saga and the motorcycle.
The Saga had two people inside, both foreigners, while the motorcycle was ridden by a Malaysian man.
“The motorcyclist sustained light injuries to the leg and was taken to hospital,” said Anuar.
“The driver and passenger in the Saga were not hurt.”
The authorities are undertaking cleaning works, and normal traffic flow is expected to resume by 7pm. – The Vibes, May 27, 2021
