Man found dead after row over parking: Seremban police

SEREMBAN – A man was found lying dead on the road in front of a house in Jalan Temiang here yesterday after what is believed to have been a fight over parking space.

Seremban district police chief Mohd Said Ibrahim said a team rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call on the incident at 7.17pm.

He said initial investigations showed that the victim, a 46-year-old Malaysian, is believed to have had an argument with the suspect after parking his car in front of the latter’s house.

“The victim is believed to have visited his employer’s house, which is next to that of the suspect, a Myanmar man. It is learnt that the issue over parking space had been going on for some time, and today (yesterday), the suspect also painted a ‘no parking’ sign on the road in front of his house,” Said told reporters at the scene last night.

“The (victim) was dissatisfied (with the sign) and provoked the suspect. A fight broke out between them, but it was not serious. After the situation calmed down, the victim fell and lost consciousness.”

He said the suspect, aged 21, admitted to being involved in the altercation, and has been detained under Section 302 of the Penal Code to facilitate the probe.

The victim’s body was taken to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital for a post-mortem. – Bernama, May 29, 2021
