KUALA LUMPUR – The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will close its offices and service counters nationwide during the Covid-19 lockdown from tomorrow till June 14.
Accordingly, all prior Janji Temu Online (JTO) appointments are cancelled with immediate effect, it said in a statement yesterday.
“Members are required to reschedule their visits to a later date via the JTO facility after the total lockdown period is over, if there is a need to be present at EPF branches in person.
“Appointments for Ages 50, 55 and 60, and Incapacitation Category withdrawal applications will be given priority when EPF offices and service counters are back in operation. This is part of an effort to break the chain of infection by reducing face-to-face interaction.”
For members who have applied for i-Sinar withdrawals and are awaiting the sum via payment order (PO), EPF said the relevant branches will contact them to arrange for a PO pick-up.
“For other EPF services, such as withdrawal applications for Housing, and Ages 50, 55 and 60, members are able to access online transactions via i-Akaun.”
However, the thumbprint verification to complete an online transaction can be done only when the lockdown is over, and EPF offices and counters are back in operation, it said.
In a separate statement, the fund said it has temporarily closed offices and counters in Kluang, Johor, and Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, from yesterday till further notice following the detection of Covid-19 among employees. – Bernama, May 31, 2021
