KUALA LUMPUR – The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is currently being evaluated by the National Pharmaceutical Regulation Agency (NPRA) for its suitability in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, said coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy was asked if the J&J vaccine will be used in inoculating undocumented migrants in Malaysia.

He said the government was in talks with the vaccine maker in March, adding that the company could deliver only some two million doses by the end of the year.

Currently, there are three NPRA-approved vaccines used in Malaysia – Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac and AstraZeneca.

Previously, Khairy said any party is welcomed to submit relevant documents to NPRA for the China-made Sinopharm vaccine. – The Vibes, May 31, 2021
