KUALA LUMPUR – A plastics factory in Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya, was slapped with a RM10,000 fine after it was found to be operating beyond permitted hours during the recently implemented full-scale movement control order (MCO) 3.0 yesterday.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said cops raided the premises at 10.45pm yesterday.
“The Petaling Jaya district police officers also fined a 41-year-old woman, who was the factory supervisor, RM10,000 for offences under Rule 17(2) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within Infected Local Areas) 2021.
“Meanwhile, seven individuals comprising seven women and one man aged between 18 and 69 were fined RM2,000 each under Rule 17(1) for the same offence,” he said in a statement today.
Fakhrudin reminded all industrial sectors that are permitted to operate to also abide by the set guidelines throughout the two-week MCO 3.0 period or face heavier punishment. – The Vibes, June 2, 2021
