SEREMBAN – Police arrested two men trying to smuggle drugs in a food pack to their friend, a patient at the Covid-19 low-risk quarantine and treatment centre at Politeknik Port Dickson near here, yesterday.
Port Dickson police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed said officers who inspected the food pack found a plastic packet containing 1.4g of crystals believed to be syabu.
Also seized was a glass tube wrapped in tissue paper, believed to be drug paraphernalia.
Aidi Sham said the duo, locals aged 27 and 35, tested positive for methamphetamine, and that the case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He said police and other enforcement agencies are increasing surveillance at the Politeknik Teluk Kemang quarantine centre to prevent prohibited items, especially drugs, from being smuggled inside. – Bernama, June 3, 2021
