KUALA LUMPUR – PAS has slammed other parties for “politicking” and being “very eager” to take over the country’s administration amid the pandemic.
President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang in a statement said there are some leaders who “seem to put Malaysia outside Earth’s realms”.
“They continue to be relentless in their politicking, and are very eager to take over the reins of the national and state leaderships during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Rasulullah SAW compared this group to those who are in the lower compartments of an ark, where they want to pierce the ship from below because they are in a hurry to get water for themselves, with no regard for the people in the ark.
“They need to be restrained so that everything is safe.”
He said his party was directly involved in taking over Putrajaya from the Pakatan Harapan government, which had been “marred by a leadership and moral crisis to the point of boring the people”.
“PAS was given several roles in the cabinet, and continues to carry out its duties without question, because PAS puts the interests of the people first.”
Hadi’s statement comes amid excitement at Istana Negara, where party leaders have been summoned for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Hadi himself is expected to meet the king as well, but he has been recuperating at the National Heart Institute for the past few days. – The Vibes, June 9, 2021
