GEORGE TOWN – Frenchwoman Leonie Bardet and her three children will be deported on June 13, but a group of French nationals are worried for her health since she is six months pregnant.
The group’s representative, Amor Adjal, told The Vibes that it is not the Malaysian police that are at fault, but the French government, which is infringing on human rights by asking the Malaysian authorities to keep them in detention.
“If Bardet is to go back to France, she will be considered a criminal there. And if she is deported, the French embassy and government must take the responsibility for killing an innocent baby, knowing that she cannot, in her condition, travel by plane.”
Bardet and her children are currently in the Belantik immigration detention centre in Sik, Kedah. She is the live-in companion of Rémy Daillet-Wiedeman, who is wanted for allegedly influencing people to kidnap an 8-year-old girl in France.
The group has been trying to contact the immigration detention centre for several days. Today an officer picked up and relayed that Bardet had requested a pacifier and some clothes for her baby. The officer also told them about the deportation.
“I don’t know why they are acting like this, it is just awful. Even if the father is a terrorist, her children are innocent. They are not criminals,” he said. – The Vibes, June 10, 2021
