SHAH ALAM – A clerk today pleaded not guilty at the sessions court here to falsifying a discharge of charge document, or Form 16N, which allegedly caused Standard Chartered Bank to suffer RM4.14 million in losses.
Han Hee Siew, 56, entered the plea after the charge was read out to him before judge Rohatul Akmar Abdullah.
He was charged with committing the offence at the Land and Mines Office in Petaling, Selangor, on March 26, 2014.
The charge, framed under Section 471 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 467 of the same code, carries a jail term of up to 20 years and a fine upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Ainul Amirah Abdul Razak prosecuted, while lawyer Shalehhuddin Salam represented the accused.
The court fixed July 14 for remention. – Bernama, June 11, 2021
