KOTA BARU – The Kelantan Health Department is expected to carry out house-to-house Covid-19 immunisation once the programme involving public and temporary vaccination centres is completed.
State Health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the department plans to do this when the vaccination drive, including its outreach programme, ends in September or October.
“If the outreach programme can be completed quickly, we will begin house-to-house vaccination for persons with disabilities, the bedridden and others.”
His comment follows a Bernama report titled “Ex-national basketball players braves disability to get vaccinated” yesterday. The report went viral on social media, gaining 400,000 views on Twitter.
Dr Zaini said house-to-house vaccination will require the involvement of a large number of personnel, including nurses, drivers and others.
He said a total of 145,447 individuals have received their first Covid-19 vaccine dose, while 64,943 have completed both doses in the state under Phase 2 of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme. – Bernama, June 14, 2021
