KUALA LUMPUR – An attempt by a silat practitioner to conduct a martial arts class during the third movement control order (MCO 3.0) has been foiled by police following a raid at a residence in Bandar Utama, near here, this afternoon.
Petaling Jaya police chief Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said a team had conducted an inspection at a double-storey house in Bandar Utama, where they discovered a group of eight individuals practising silat at the first floor of the premises.
“Police then issued a compound of RM1,500 each to eight individuals aged between 26 to 51 (totalling RM12,000) under Regulation 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Areas of Infection) Regulations 2021 for failing to comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the National Security Council during MCO 3.0.”
Fakhrudin urged the public to comply with SOPs, as failure to do so will lead to a minimum compound of RM1,500 or arrest followed by legal action. – The Vibes, June 16, 2021
