IPOH – A rubber glove processing factory in Kamunting Raya Industrial Estate, Taiping, has been ordered to close and issued a compound of RM25,000 for failing to comply with movement control order (MCO) 3.0 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Taiping police chief Osman Mamat said this follows an operation on the premises at 10am yesterday, carried out by a team from the district police headquarters and assisted by an enforcement unit from the district health office.
“Upon inspection, the premises was found to be operating with a workforce capacity of more than 60%, thus violating the SOPs set by the National Security Council for areas under MCO 3.0.
“Our inspection also found that the owner of the premises had submitted inaccurate information regarding close contacts and exact locations of infections to the Taiping Health Office.”
Osman said the factory has been ordered to close from yesterday until June 27, and action will be taken under Sections 18(1)(f) and 22(b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342). – Bernama, June 21, 2021
