PUTRAJAYA – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has obtained a remand order against four marine engineering company owners to facilitate investigations into a RM10 million supply tender for an enforcement agency.
The remand order was issued by Putrajaya magistrate Wira Abdul Halim after hearing MACC’s application.
Two suspects have been remanded for four days until Thursday, and the other two, until tomorrow.
The suspects – two men and two women, aged between 40 and 71 – were detained at the MACC headquarters here about 9pm and 10pm yesterday.
A source said they are believed to have given bribes to officers of the enforcement agency as a reward for helping the firms secure the tender to supply and undertake services and maintenance works from 2018 to this year.
The case is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009. – Bernama, June 21, 2021
