KUALA LUMPUR – A netizen allegedly involved in a case linked to teenager Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam has been arrested.

In a Facebook post, Ain Husniza’s father said police had recently detained the suspect, who has provided a statement at the Putrajaya district police headquarters today.

“Just finished attending to matters in IPD Putrajaya. I was there to provide a statement to an investigating officer on a case involving Ain Husniza,” said Saiful Nizam Abdul Wahab.

“The suspect has been caught. That’s all I can share for now. On other matters, we have to give space to the police to do their work.”

Saiful indicated that there were other suspects that might be hauled up as investigations progress.

But, he did not mention the nature of the case involving his daughter.

“So, be netizens who are responsible. Don’t reach a point where you are arrested.”

Ain Husniza, 17, made headlines in recent months after publicising her teacher’s alleged trivialisation of rape.

Her revelation also gave rise to a campaign called #MakeSchoolASaferPlace, which has gained widespread traction among netizens and lawmakers. – The Vibes, June 22, 2021
